B&B Sol Y Monte

The rooms were clean and cozy, with everything we needed. It was too cool to swim during our visit, but the pool looked lovely for a dip or a bit of lounging. You can pick lemons from the trees, and there are fat bikes if you want to tackle some hills. A walk along the roads is nice too. We stumbled on this beautiful B&B by accident, and the quiet, out-of-the-way setting turned out to be a great choice. The hosts were friendly and very accommodating. Breakfast on the terrace was a lovely touch, and dinner with them was excellent, including a yummy dessert presented like something from a fancy restaurant. Everything is done up so nicely that you feel relaxed and at home straight away. Follow the hosts’ directions, since GPS may stop working once you’re in the hills. The roads are less traveled, although you’re not that far from Malaga. The drive is worth it if you want quiet scenery and peace.

We had a small Toyota aygo and managed the rustic mountain road to the B&B, though I’d recommend a 4x4. The finca is about 20 minutes from Álora village and 40-50 minutes from Caminito del Rey. If peace and quiet are what you’re after, this beautiful mountain place has a pool and a self-service bar with beer, wine, and more. Nathalie and Bob, a couple from Netherlands, were amazing hosts, and we fell for their dogs too 😀 The rooms are small but clean and have everything you need, including a coffee maker. You can have breakfast on your own terrace. There are wasps around, just so you know. I’m afraid of them, but survived and still loved the place 😅🐝 Nathalie lent me an electric fly bat, which worked.

Erwin cooked dinner for us on two nights, and he really knows his way around a kitchen! Lydia made sure we were looked after, and their professionalism and friendliness made the whole experience amazing. The B&B was cozy, with a lovely room, surroundings, and pool area. We’ll definitely come back.

The little private terrace off our cozy room had an amazing view. Set on top of a lovely Andalusian hill, the B&B also has a nice pool and lovely service. The hosts were very nice, and I’d definitely recommend it.
