There are plenty of places to eat just a short walk into town, and the staff here were friendly and helpful. Online check-in went smoothly. The hostal was lovely and clean, around 30 minutes from the Caminito parking and shuttle bus. Our room felt chilly at this time of year, though the heating worked, it just wasn’t on all the time. The walls are very thin too, which is pretty normal for budget accommodation. All in all, very good.

Alora is a really nice place to stay if you want to be in the middle of a real Spanish area. It’s about an hour and a half by bus from Malaga, so having a car is preferable. There’s no transport in the evenings.

The building is fairly new, though my room was decorated in a traditional style. It was comfortable, in good condition and nicely furnished. The place is on the village’s northern edge, but still convenient for the village and countryside nearby. There are good bus links close by to the station, Malaga and El Caminito del Rey.

There’s no breakfast included. The place is very clean and quiet, and reception is helpful when it’s open. If you arrive around lunchtime, reception may be closed until 4pm, but there’s a shaded spot outside with a table and chairs where you can wait comfortably.
