Vacationers, be careful. This place didn’t match how it was advertised as a four-star all-inclusive resort. The rooms are spacious, the bathrooms are great, and the air conditioning and Wi-Fi worked fine. It was clean, and breakfast was OK. But the place felt like a huge stripped-down mansion with a holiday camp atmosphere. You have to wear strange wristbands to eat breakfast, and management’s policy seemed to be that nothing was included. I don’t understand the four-star rating. We walked through the enormous, mostly empty complex looking for our room, which was hundreds of metres away at the back of a distant corridor. When we saw the dirty pools, we knew it wasn’t for us. The strict cancellation terms meant we couldn’t change our booking, and reception staff were passive-aggressive and offered no help. We had to stay for three days. Villa Gadea down the road costs about the same, but the quality and atmosphere are night and day better. I

The staff were friendly and polite, and the hotel was clean, but the facilities look old and poorly maintained. The food could be much better: there’s little choice, and the vegetable stews, peas, and broad beans were raw, while the meat and fish were overcooked. It sounds like they’re closing in October to renovate. I hope they update the kitchen as well and improve the food.

The rooms are spacious and very well kept, the pools are good, and the hotel itself is spectacular. There’s a good variety of food, and it’s good too. The staff are attentive and proper. The gym and spa are quite weak.

The pools were the highlight, always clean. The children’s pool slopes down gradually and reaches just 0.70 metres at its deepest. Service was very attentive, and the activities for little ones were great.

A beautiful, very safe location, and it wasn’t crowded in September. The staff were generally friendly. Good value for the money.
