There’s loads of room to park here. We fit five cars with space left over, and the pool has a bench where you can sit in the water and enjoy the view. It can also be fenced off for children and pets. It was a little dirty with leaves and insects on the first day, but after we asked the owners to move the cleaning to daytime, it got much better. The house itself is lovely, though the heat made our stay uncomfortable. The air conditioning wasn’t working, the dining area felt like an oven in the morning, and upstairs rooms reached 30°C as heat came through the roof. The owners tried hard to sort out the issues, but couldn’t fix the heat. We’d asked before arriving for one room to be cleaned carefully because a guest had a dust allergy, and they were happy to do that. There were also lots of wasps. One stung our 7-year-old daughter, and another stung a friend. The porch is in a great spot and has a bar, two fridges, a dishwasher, dishes and glasses. The barbecue is under the porch, which got too hot, and there’s no ventilation, perhaps a ceiling fan would help. The chimney didn’t draw the smoke properly either, so some came back onto the porch. Inside, there’s a big dining room with a bar, a living room with sofas and a pool table, and another sitting room with sofas by a fireplace. You can see some stars at night, though the garden lights get in the way a bit. Without the heat, this would be five stars. We’ll definitely come back.
