Hotel Finca Torremilanos

The beautifully decorated historic Hotel Torremilanos offers a peaceful short stay surrounded by nature. It's an incredible vineyard hotel just a few minutes outside Aranda de Duero, about a 1.5-hour drive from Madrid. They have nice organic wines, a restaurant with a rich meat and fish menu, and skilled servers. Hopefully we can return to Torremilanos sometime.

We were unsure at first because the local industrial park is creeping into the area, but there was no need to worry. The room was large and comfortable, with a bit of an 80s feel, and the people were so friendly and helpful. We had dinner at the hotel both nights and the cooking was excellent. Many people seem to stop here overnight on their way south from the northern Spanish ports, but I'd recommend staying at least two nights to explore the wine region. The hotel has an organic, biodynamic winery, with really interesting tours and tastings. Great people, food and wine!

The hotel has its own bodega, and you can reserve a visit. The rooms are very clean, and the beautiful antique decor makes it a great place to stay when visiting Aranda del Duero or Ribera del Duero. The staff are always there to help and very friendly. Thanks to Carmen, Yolanda and David for looking after us.

The buffet breakfast had a good selection, though they were still setting it up when we arrived at opening time because we had a ferry to catch. Reception staff were friendly and helpful. Dinner wasn't a huge menu, but it was well cooked and presented, and the wine we chose was perfect. The hotel is beautifully furnished and decorated, with modern facilities and very comfortable beds. I was surprised to learn it was built in the 1980s. We didn't have time to visit the attached winery, but I'd certainly stay here again.
