Casa Puerta del Sol

The bathroom layout in our room wasn’t ideal, since it was right at the entrance and you had to pass through it to get to the bedroom. The toilet and bathtub drain were electric, so be careful what you flush. Sometimes even the toilet paper wouldn’t go away. Water would collect in the shower tray until the drain finally swallowed it. The superior room has a more convenient bathroom, plus two balconies and a sofa. It’s an old house remodeled into hotel-style rooms with bathrooms. The rooms are charming, with high ceilings, wooden beams, and lovely decor. Breakfast is served from 9 to 10 and is very comprehensive. The staff were fabulous, no complaints there, though there’s always room to improve. The location is perfect, right in the center and on the official race track during Holy Week. Parking nearby costs €10 a day.

The service was friendly and excellent, and the house itself is beautiful. The rooms were lovely, clean, and well equipped. My only faults were that the bed wasn’t very comfortable and the Wi-Fi was a bit weak in our room. It was quite far from the hotspot, and this is an old house with thick walls.

The photos don’t really show how nice the house is. It does need some investment and better upkeep, though. The rooms are dark, the bathrooms aren’t heated, and breakfast was just basic cold cuts and pastries.

The room layout was awkward, with the bathroom right by the entrance, so you couldn’t come or go while someone was using it. Breakfast wasn’t available because the person in charge was ill, and we were sent to a little shop-bar nearby. It was less than we’d expected.
