Casa Rural Moradiellos

Ramón took plenty of time to suggest nearby sights and restaurants where we could try Asturian food. The house itself was lovely, an old place with rustic touches that’s been updated with all the modern comforts. It’s wonderfully quiet, with the Casaño River running behind it and making the nicest soft background sound. If I ever had a house in Asturias, I’d want one just like this.

I’m still angry about how this went. A week ago I tried to rent the place for around €660 for 7 nights, the advertised price. As soon as I asked about it, the price went up by more than €100. I then called through the accommodation’s own website and was quoted €100 a day, even though the site showed €70 per day in high season. They blamed an update issue on the website. We settled on €95 per night, and I asked to have a day to check with the rest of my party. They agreed, but when I called to book, they said it was already taken. That’s twice I felt scammed in 48 hours. I checked Airbnb afterwards and it was still listed. First they raise the rate, then say they’ll lower it if I book outside Airbnb, then back out of that too. They don’t keep their word and seem only interested in money. I filed a complaint with Airbnb. When they saw my screenshot of the original price and increase, they were shocked and gave it a negative sticker, which I’m glad about. It’s a disgrace. Beware, friends. Best regards.

We’ve been here before and will come again. Cami is such a lovely woman, and her fabada is the best in all of Asturias. The tortos were delicious, the kid goat spectacular, and the leche frita we had for dessert was the best I’ve ever tasted.

The traditional corridor upstairs looks out toward the Cabrales Mountains. This nearly two-century-old house has recently been restored, with a living room and kitchen on the ground floor and two double bedrooms plus a bathroom above.
