We had a sea view and could watch the sunrise from our modern room. The setting was beautiful, and the staff were great and very friendly. The restaurant was good too, with delicious lobster.

We were staying in our caravan at Camping Playa Joyel, so I can’t comment on the rooms. We’d read about the seafood at the Hotel Astuy restaurant in The Guardian and booked a lunch. It started with jamon and foie gras salad, then a prawn and clam skewer, followed by lemon sorbet. The seafood platter was delicious, and for pudding we had baked Alaska with our waiter pouring flaming rum over the egg white casing. A bottle of red or white wine was included. It was an excellent meal, and we’ll go again on our next trip to Playa Joyel.

We booked a room with a sea view for 2 nights, and it was just amazing. The restaurant food was tasty too. There are 3 small beaches by the hotel and one really big one. I love this place!

Check-in was quick, and we had a good-sized bedroom and secure parking for the car. The hotel sits in a lovely spot overlooking the sea. The waiter on the terrace wasn't especially friendly, and there were no tea or coffee facilities in the room.

The food was good, the staff were excellent, and there are lots of lovely cafes and restaurants close by, plus a supermarket about a 2-minute walk away. The location itself was ideal, with two beaches beside the hotel and easy access to others. Noise was the only issue: we could hear everything from the street when we went to bed, usually around 10:30 or 11:00 pm. There was no air conditioning, but the temperature wasn't too high, so that was fine for us.
