The rooms are clean and roomy, and the welcome makes you feel at home. The inn is also well placed for taking in Cantabria. La Taverna, run by the same family, is well worth a stop while you’re in the area.

We’re from Tudela (Navarra) and spent a week here. The Soano team looked after us wonderfully. We’d gladly come back.

The village is peaceful, and Noja and Isla are both an easy walk away. We had a comfortable room and a delicious breakfast. The staff were very attentive, and the owners’ adjoining tavern is a lovely spot for food and a drink. We’ll return.

The tavern was the bright spot for us: the food was very good, and the waiters and Miguel were excellent. The inn itself was a different story. We’ve stayed here for several years, but this visit left us very uncomfortable. We’d told them we were bringing two children, yet the room was small, with a small bed and an uncomfortable extra bed. The furnishings need renovating, and a table made it barely possible to open the wardrobe. When we raised this with the owner, he acted as if he didn’t understand and showed no interest. Cleanliness was only so-so, with cobwebs even on the bedside lamps. The innkeeper came across as lacking empathy, friendliness, and people skills. Prices had also gone up excessively, while breakfast was meager and outdated.
