The food was delicious, and I liked that the menu changed regularly instead of serving the same dishes every day. Just try to arrive before closing, since popular options may be gone by then. We had a wonderful stay and would gladly return. Natalia at reception deserves a special thank you. I don’t know her last name, but I know she is from Ukraine. She was kind and patient, explained everything clearly, and gave us helpful advice that made the trip more enjoyable. I’m also grateful to the red-haired waitress with red lipstick in the restaurant. She was so warm and caring with my child, greeting him and giving him attention every day. He looked forward to seeing her and grew very fond of her. Thank you for that kindness and care. We’ll remember this stay very warmly.

The food was good with a nice range of choices, though a plain eater might find the options limited because there are lots of different flavors. Cocktails were enjoyable enough, nothing special. Gala Alexander Hotel is in a great spot, close to what you need and easy to get around. It’s very family-friendly, with plenty to keep kids entertained. A lovely stay, and I’d happily come back!

The pool options leave a lot to be desired: one is extremely shallow, the other far too deep and freezing cold, with nothing in between. At mealtimes, staff come to everyone’s table to demand room cards as proof guests have paid, often aggressively. Three or four may ask before you’ve even finished your starter. Even if someone checked the card only hours earlier, they come back and demand it again, though a booking covers 24 hours, so dinner should obviously include breakfast the next day. Colleagues often follow up asking repeatedly, as if guests are stealing food unless they can prove otherwise. It felt like repeatedly patting down supermarket shoppers on the assumption they might shoplift. Some staff seem to enjoy this, especially a middle-aged man with spiky hair, who clearly wasn’t suited to the process. The hotel itself isn’t bad.

The pool area was spacious, and there was always a sunbed available. The all-inclusive bar had a good selection and tasty slushies. Staff were lovely, and the rooms were great. The air conditioning wasn’t very good, though it was bearable during our May visit. I had a great stay at hotel gala. Local shops and the beach are an easy walk away.
