Castle Harbour with heated pool, only 700 meters to the beach, Wifi, balcony

The complex itself was lovely, the beds were very comfortable, and the bar and restaurant staff were brilliant. The accommodation was well equipped too, except for the blunt knives. But we were VERY disappointed with the stay and can't understand all the glowing reviews. Maybe those guests had low expectations or knew the owner, because they don't mention any of the problems we had, which seems suspicious. That sofa was the most uncomfortable one we've ever sat on, practically like concrete. We also had no instructions for the TV, cooker, or washing machine, which made using them difficult. The balcony was spacious, but faced north over a busy main road and got no sun. We hoped to sit out and read, but building work directly across the road made a constant racket. A mechanical jackhammer breaking up rock went from 8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. The ensuite drain smell was awful and spread through the accommodation. We were told only when we arrived that used toilet paper had to go in a bin by the toilet and couldn't be flushed. We found this extremely unpleasant and unhygienic, and wouldn't have booked if we'd known in advance. Reception and other guests said no one else in the complex had to do this. Since all the apartments use the same pipe network, we couldn't understand why this one was different. We'd booked four weeks, but left after three because of the stinking drains, the noise, and the lack of cleaning or fresh bed linen. We told the owner, who seemed completely disinterested. We definitely wouldn't recommend this accommodation.

Our apartment, booked through airbnb, was amazing and had everything we needed for the week. Most or all of the apartments seem to be privately owned and rented separately from the complex. The staff at the pool bar were good, and drinks there were fairly priced. The pool area was a nice little suntrap, with a pool at a good temperature. A 24-hour shop is just a minute down the road and had everything we needed. The hallway noise was the main issue. There are signs asking for quiet during certain hours, but people don't always follow them, and the windows facing the hall are so thin you can hear everything. You also pay €2 each day for a sunbed, and wifi costs extra if your room doesn't include it. I understand the complex needs to make money too, but it's worth knowing. The main reception areas could do with a facelift. I thought the location was perfect, despite what some reviews say. It's a 15-minute walk downhill to the beachfront, with lots of restaurants, bars, supermarkets, and cafes along the way. We often walked to and from las americas, which is about a

We've stayed with Margarita several times, and her rooms are always clean, fresh, and beautiful. There are lots of thoughtful touches, with water, crisps, fruit, tea, biscuits, shampoo, shower gel, handwash, dish liquid, and laundry tabs provided. I LOVE staying at Castle Margherita's Apartments. The hosts are amazing and make sure we’re looked after, and it’s great having shops, restaurants, a pool, and a 24-hour concierge in the complex.

We love it here. For the price, it’s pretty unbelievable. The heated pool is great, probably the best pool here in Los Cristianos, and the pool bar and restaurant are brilliant. There are also some great restaurants, bars, and walks close by.
