We booked the house for 11 nights, but I managed to stay only one. The smell was so bad that I spent the night watching my phone until daylight, then left for somewhere else as soon as I could. I’ve already filed a complaint about the property. There was a damp, moldy smell inside, especially in one bedroom, where I couldn’t sleep. Lots of things were broken, the pool was dirty and dusty, and every pool chair was broken. The terrace had a barbecue but no fire extinguisher, which seemed like a serious safety concern. There was also a camera in the living room, and I don’t think that’s okay for my privacy. The landlady took my €350 deposit and said we had to return the house in the same clean condition or she would keep part of it. When I asked the host for extra bathroom towels, she said this wasn’t a hotel. The house also lacked the things I expected for a rental: a first aid kit, enough linens and towels for a stay longer than a week, kitchen and dining supplies, a visible contact and emergency information notice, and complaint forms with the required notice. The place wasn’t clean and hygienic enough to use on arrival either. Spanish law requires these basics for holiday accommodation. She said, “my house, my rules,” but why wasn’t that in the Booking.com listing? She doesn’t speak English as advertised there, either. This was sold as a luxury holiday, but it definitely wasn’t. A horrible house and landlady. I wouldn’t recommend it, and it could ruin your holiday.
