Apartamentos Mazcaray

The owner was so friendly when welcoming us, and the apartment was peaceful, with a supermarket right next door. It’s right on Bielsa’s main square, with lovely views. We stayed for four days, and the apartment was clean and had all the amenities we needed. Great value for money. We’d love to come back and stay there again.

The worst part came on the sixth day, when parties began. A stage had been set up right below the house, and the show went on until 5:30 in the morning. Nobody had told us about it, and we then learned the party would continue for two more days. When we asked the next morning to cancel, they said we’d have to pay for those two days. We refused, and they threatened to call the police. We said that was fine so the situation could be clarified. After waiting two hours, with a 10-hour drive ahead of us, we paid and left. Later we found out they hadn’t actually called the police. We also learned afterward that the Aragonese government only allows a charge of 25% for unused days. We filed a formal complaint, of course. The photos don’t match what’s there. The bathroom was dilapidated and disgusting to use, and when we raised the issue, they ignored us. I’ve attached photos that can be seen on another review website. We’ve never had apartment management this appalling. They acted like incompetent people who didn’t care about the apartment or its tenants because their real business is the supermarket. They were rude and arrogant, and made threats. If you don’t want the worst stay of your life, avoid this place. It’s sad to see people like this in such a beautiful place.

We found it really cozy, and the kitchen was fully equipped. The apartment was very clean and spacious, right in the center of town, yet quiet. The owners were attentive and very friendly. The price for what you get is fantastic, especially for a big family. We’ll definitely be back.

It’s right in the center, with a supermarket just outside. But if you arrive late, it’s hard to figure out where you’re supposed to go. The elevator only gets you partway down the floor, and the stairs are the same. The furniture and accessories aren’t well looked after, the bedroom TV remote is missing, and you can see cables everywhere. The sofa bed is uncomfortable.
