My husband and I stayed here for a few months, and the rental cost a lot without feeling worth the money. A pumpkin patch across the valley is fertilized with manure, and once the air gets humid at night, the smell outside is like an animal farm. Closing the windows didn’t get us away from it, and we kept switching on the AC when we didn’t need it. Locals have tried, without success, to get the municipality to change things. The smell really spoils the area around Las Olas and the entrance to Palm Mar. I’d go farther into Palm Mar, where it isn’t as bad. The pool is so large that it stays freezing, and it’s only usable for a few summer months. After that, you just freeze in it. I wouldn’t invest in this property or book it as a holiday rental.

This is a residential complex, not a tourist destination. Tourism is illegal here, so please don’t book it for a holiday.
