Los Alisios Apartments

The staff were the friendliest I’ve come across, and nothing felt like too much trouble. Poppy was brilliant with all of us and the children. We had fun at bingo and trying the cocktails of the day, while the kids enjoyed her face painting and other games. Marium was lovely too, and we had some great chats. We’ve just had a fantastic week here. The rooms were lovely and big, and cleaned every day. The buffet breakfast had everything we wanted and more, with the chef frying eggs fresh and making omelets to order. The one downside was the pool beds. We’d come in around 11:30 at night and many were already claimed with towels, but people wouldn’t show up until 1 or 2 in the afternoon. Even so, we had a great week and would definitely return.

I had a lovely week here. The reception team were helpful, and the cleaning staff were on the ball. The rooms are spacious and very clean. I was in room A206 with a nice pool view. The morning sun reaches the balcony, then leaves in the afternoon. That’s not the hotel’s fault, but it’s useful to know if you’re staying in block A. Each morning, the pool area, steps, and walkways were cleaned between 6 and 8, ready for the day. It’s about a 15-minute walk to the front.

The staff are all brilliant. The room we had was very clean, with comfortable beds and a well stocked kitchen, though there was only one plug socket. No A/C, and while there’s a fan in both the lounge and bedroom, the lounge one wasn’t working at the time. The bedroom fan did make it a bit cooler. The location is good, about a 15-minute walk downhill to the seafront. The hill was nowhere near as bad as we’d read in reviews or blogs, and there are a few shops and places to eat or drink along the way. The pool bar and shop were good, and the bar food and drinks were good quality and value. Card only, no cash.

We needed a few relaxing days away from the snow and subzero temperatures at home, and this place was perfect for that. It felt busier in January than when we came at Easter, but never so busy that it was a problem. Daytime temperatures were around 20 degrees, with cardigan weather at night. The €15 boat trips to see pilot whales and dolphins were a highlight. This was only our second visit to Los Cristianos. A low price for five days convinced me to book, even though we’d stayed closer to town and the beach before. The short walk up a slight hill didn’t put us off. We expected basic but clean accommodation because of the price, but our experience was all positive. The apartments were spacious, well equipped with a kitchenette, cleaned daily, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. We knew there was no air con, and at this time of year the nights were cool enough for comfortable sleep. We usually book self catering, but added breakfast this time for not much more. It was well worth it, with plenty of choice, and we felt we saved money by not needing to eat as much out during the day. Dinners for two in the area cost between 35 and 58 euros, including alcohol and two main courses. We didn’t book a transfer in advance. A taxi from the airport rank brought us here for 25 euros, and the ride took 15 minutes. We’ll come back. It’s been just the place we needed.
