Lovely House Tenerife

The breakfast was 10/10, with a good range of eggs, desserts, and lots more. The staff were very nice, too. The bed in the living room was really uncomfortable and hard to sleep on, though the bed in our room was soft and comfortable. The blanket had a small tear. I’ll show you the photo. The pool is the real highlight for me. It’s huge and uses NATURAL SEA WATER, so no chemicals or irritation to skin or eyes. It’s cleaned completely every 2-3 days, and even at busy times there were plenty of loungers and umbrellas. Breakfast was good for both quality and choice, and I never had an issue. The hotel is calm and quiet at night, and the mattress was just right, neither too firm nor too soft, so I slept well. The recently renovated room was clean and had a great view. It also came with a little kitchen area, fridge, toaster, utensils, a moka for Italian coffee, and a microwave. The location, halfway between Las Americas/Los Cristianos and Tenerife South Airport, made it easy to relax while still being a few minutes by car from Tenerife-style nightlife. Reception and the rest of the staff were kind, polite, and helpful whenever I needed anything. This is my third time staying at “Ona Alborada” during visits to Tenerife, and I’m really happy with the choice. In my opinion, it’s excellent value for money. I highly recommend the hotel and will be back for sure.

I stayed from December 24 to 28 2025. My review on Booking.com, posted on December 31, has more photos. The natural seawater pool was the one good thing, especially since there aren’t beautiful beaches nearby. The hotel was very expensive and dirty, and I found bed bugs in the pillows. On the first night, staff wouldn’t let me change rooms even after I showed them a bed bug. The second night, I showed them a video, and they moved me to a different room 12 hours later, then put a new guest in my room. That room was dirty too, and after finding bed bugs inside the pillows, I slept in chairs. PayPal didn’t refund my money, and neither did the hotel. Someone else posted a Booking.com review in May 2026 saying they also had bed bugs in their room, so the problem is still there.

The rooms were spacious and nice, and the pool area was lovely, definitely a highlight. But we stayed for 8 nights and housekeeping came only once a week, which made it difficult, especially with towels. Half board came with no drinks at dinner at all, not even water, tea, or coffee. In my experience, half board usually includes at least soft drinks and water, and often beer or wine as well. With 9 people, including children, this was an unexpected extra cost and made dinner feel odd. A lot of staff were frankly rude and made guests feel like a burden instead of welcome. Even ordering drinks felt like an ordeal, making meals uncomfortable. The hotel has potential, but these things made the stay much less enjoyable.
