DO NOT STAY HERE! We should have listened to the earlier reviews about payment. An hour before we arrived, they called to say there was a payment problem, even though I’d entered my card details on booking.com as usual. When we got there, they accused us of not paying and kept us waiting outside for an hour. Two other groups were stuck out there with the same issue. First they said someone would come the next day to take payment and let us in, then said that person was sick and asked us to send photos of both sides of our card. We refused. We had to book somewhere else to stay. Terrible experience, and I’d never stay here again. Scam central.

The location is great, close to everything, and we enjoyed our stay. But the property wasn’t very clean, and we waited ages for someone to replace the towels. There was no drying rack, even though booking.com said there would be one, and after a week the sand had made things messy with no broom to sweep it up. The Wi-Fi barely worked for the first two days. The website also advertised free parking, but there was none, so we had to leave the car a 15-minute walk away each day. They should mention that there’s no parking on the street by the property. Still, we had a lovely time.

We booked two nights through booking.com and planned to check in at 15.00, but that was refused. At 17.10 I got a message saying there was an issue with my card. I knew it was fine, as booking.com had charged another booking without trouble that same day. I hurried over and arrived at 18.10, but nobody was there and neither phone was answered. After waiting 30 minutes, two other women turned up with the same story: they had booked Vila Lavanda through booking.com, had card charging problems even after changing their card details twice, and nobody would let them in. The owner eventually called back but wouldn't come to charge the card or take cash, despite it still being check-in time. The owner suggested paying through a WhatsApp link, but never sent it. It was a very strange situation, with four people across two reservations unable to get a place to stay even though we were willing to pay at check-in.

The location was good, and otherwise I was happy with my stay. Cleaning was about 3/5. I ran into the same booking.com credit card payment problem as other reviewers, and Vila Lavanda said it was my fault.

The location is the best thing about this lovely apartment, right in the middle of playa del Americanos, and our host was very kind and helpful. At 65 per night, the price was reasonable. The place was VERY clean, though clearly humble accommodation. I only wish it had a coffee machine. The towels were small and scratchy, the bed was uncomfortable, and the sheets and cover blanket were old. There was no soap.
