Hotel Miramar

The staff were nice, but the room faced a noisy side street and the view was disappointing. Parking was a nightmare because the staff didn’t know about the street closures. Breakfast was very simple, and it felt like poor value for money, though we were there over New Year's Eve, so that’s fair enough.

The location is great, and the roof terrace with its solarium and breakfast was wonderful. The rooms aren’t especially cosy or modern, though. Bring ear protection if you want to sleep well.

Good location near the beach with easy access. The reception staff were very friendly, the cabin room was clean, and the toilet was clean too. Breakfast was standard.

The breakfast buffet was a real highlight. There was a generous range of fresh, high-quality food, served on a lovely terrace with panoramic sea views. Mornings there were a pleasure. The staff were attentive, polite, and keen to help, which made a positive difference. Hotel Miramar in Arrecife has a hard-to-beat location, right in the city centre facing the sea, and I was lucky to get a room with a beautiful water view. That gave me high expectations, but the room itself was disappointing. A lot of the fixtures and furniture felt dated or poorly maintained. Some hanger hooks were rusty, the shower was partly damaged, and the terrace doors were misaligned and hard to operate. There also weren’t enough power outlets, and no USB charging ports, which I’d strongly suggest adding for international guests. There were notices and rules all over the hotel, to the point where it felt overly instructive and took away some of the comfort and freedom. With some thoughtful renovation and a more guest-friendly design, Hotel Miramar has a lot of potential.
