We’ve stayed here twice now, and we’ll definitely come back. The house was spacious and very clean, and its location is exceptional. Victor was friendly and attentive, made sure everything was right, and gave us information about the routes available. It’s an experience worth repeating.

Hello. We booked an apartment with a terrace for one night, two weeks before the trip. A couple of days before we arrived, the owner moved us to another one, saying there was a special assessment on the first apartment, but the price stayed the same. The replacement was in the basement, with no air conditioning or fans in the middle of summer, and the bedroom windows were at street level. When we pulled out the sheets, there were flying ants in both bedrooms, apparently from a colony nearby, even though everything had been shut up. The mattress was incredibly uncomfortable, so we slept terribly. There were also lots of long hairs on the sheets, on top of the bugs. The apartment was a complete disaster, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. Regards.

The owner is very friendly and gives suggestions for places to visit and routes to take during your stay. There are several accommodations to choose from, whether you’re on your own, with a partner, in a group, or with family. We’ve stayed as a couple and with family, and it’s been fantastic each time. The apartments were clean, spacious, and renovated. Highly recommended, we’ll be back!

A few days before we arrived, the owner called to say a pipe had broken in the apartment we booked through another website, so he’d need to find us a replacement. He sent photos and we agreed, though they didn’t show what we found in person. The apartment was newly renovated but still unfinished, with dirty windows covered in plastic and pipes sticking out of the walls. We’d booked an apartment overlooking the main street, but instead the view was a vacant lot full of scrap metal, weeds, and rubbish. The windows were small and ventilation was poor. The master bedroom was tiny, with the bed pushed against the wall, which was awkward if you needed the bathroom in the middle of the night. Towels and bed linen were included, but the towels were all different colors and didn’t look clean, so thankfully we’d brought our own. We used the provided ones after showering and put them under our feet. We had to change the sheets because ours had yellow stains, even though they were clean, and Victor readily gave us replacements. The apartment wasn’t very clean otherwise either: the microwave was dirty inside and out, and the floor had specks of dust that didn’t feel hygienic. It was labeled pet friendly and had a sign telling guests to bring pets, but it’s still important to keep animals well-behaved and be careful. I’d also ask, if we’d been traveling with children, would we have been told to be careful? On Friday around 3:30 pm, a drill kept running on and off above us. It turned out the owner was renovating another apartment, despite knowing guests were staying there. We visit Arroyo Frío every year around this time, and a lot would have to change before we returned to these accommodations.
