Hotel Florida

The reception team was genuinely helpful. We arrived an hour early and they kindly gave us a room, but it smelled strongly of smoke, so we went back and asked for our original room. That one was clean and fairly spacious, with windows at the back of the hotel rather than facing the street, which was much better. The air conditioner was the downside. It barely worked and made a strange vibrating sound. Reception came to check it and asked us to give it a little time, then called later to see if things had improved. We had already switched it off because of the noise, so my husband told them it was better. The service was great, but the location and the air conditioning made the stay a bit bittersweet.

The surroundings aren't especially romantic, but the welcome, comfort, and food more than made up for that. Parking at the hotel is free, and they provide every bathroom extra you could think of. I’d never seen a bath sponge supplied before. I liked staying at a wonderful family-style hotel instead of one of the anonymous global chains. The owners seemed to be in the bar that evening and wished me 'Buen provecho' while I was eating. They seemed like decent, kind people, and the locals stream in, which is a strong recommendation in itself. Nothing negative to report. I’d challenge anyone to find a complaint about this hotel.

The restaurant was excellent and the staff were pleasant. We had a nice, clean room and thought it was good value. There wasn't a view, but that didn't bother me. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The staff were lovely and professional. Our good-sized room was cleaned daily and came with plenty of toiletries. Both the bar and the restaurant were very good.
