The house and its surroundings are gorgeous, and I feel bad saying this, but the place seemed neglected when I visited in January. It could use some small repairs and care. I’d looked forward to walking around the grounds, but found rubbish tucked away in corners, including part of an old threadmill by the outdoor shower. My room looked like it belonged in a fairytale, yet the towels had holes, and the two tiny shampoo samples felt a bit funny. There were also lots of laminated signs around the property that came across like passive aggressive notes from an annoying neighbour, if you know what I mean. Dinner was hearty, comforting, and really good, but the table mat was stained and there were cobwebs in the lamp above my table. I only found out at checkout that there was a binder with information about the house and plantation. Some historic photos on the walls would do more justice to the place than that plastic binder. I still recommend a visit, and hope the staff give this amazing place more care in the future.

This was one of the best places we’ve ever stayed, and we’re already promising to come back. It’s a wonderful historic house, kept clean and tidy, with lovely rooms and great views. The pool is clean and just a few steps away. Dinner from Rodolfo’s Crew was great value, and the service was kind and attentive. Sure, you can find “better” restaurants, like Michelin-starred ones, but they’ll cost at least five times as much. Everything here was more than perfect for us. Don’t let unfair, negative ratings put you off.

A lovely place, with grand historic architecture, a real rarity in the Canary Islands. The rooms aren’t especially well soundproofed from the ones next door, but I still enjoyed my stay.

The hotel is set in a banana plantation, with plenty of nice spots to sit around the grounds. We stayed in the junior suite, which was nice, and the restaurant was good.

The restaurant was a highlight for me, serving delicious food made with fresh, local ingredients. The staff were friendly and attentive from the moment I arrived, and the spacious, comfortable room had everything I needed. I also loved the beautiful architecture and peaceful surroundings at La Hacienda Del Buen Suceso. I really enjoyed my stay and would recommend it to anyone after a relaxing getaway.
