The house is very well maintained and has a good location, like the other places in the area. Still, I wish I’d known about somewhere else nearby that hosts events. I held my daughters’ First Communion celebrations here last summer, and dealing with Edita, the owner, was exhausting. From the start she discouraged us from decorating. I only brought one balloon arch, but the day before the Communion she kept complaining that the balloons made a mess. We cleaned up every last bit, but the constant complaints were tiring and she could have been less pushy. The menu I booked said the entrecote came with O Cebreiro cheese. On the day, she put up a menu that left out the words “O Cebreiro.” Any cheese isn’t the same as O Cebreiro, which costs 12-15 euros per unit. I wanted to book dinner, but she insisted lunch would be enough. Luckily, there were cured meats left over from the day before, so those of us staying overnight could have some snacks. Then, as I was leaving on the last day, she said I owed an extra 120 euros, without explaining why. She’d never told me the price didn’t include VAT. She also said I’d have to pay VAT if I wanted an invoice, and pointed to a note on an 18x13 cm photo frame at the bar, among the other decorations.

The owners are incredibly kind and helpful, which was the best part for me. It’s a beautiful house with all the comforts, and the gardens and terraces are lovely as well as practical. The food is fabulous, made with excellent ingredients. Unbeatable.

We were only passing through and stopped for lunch at the restaurant. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere felt very welcoming. The owner and her daughter made us feel right at home. We’ll definitely come back, highly recommended.

The house is beautifully cared for, in a peaceful setting among the mountains of Lugo. They serve high-quality home cooking made with locally sourced produce, and the service is superb. Their warmth and care make you feel special. A hidden gem, well worth a visit.
