Casa Entre Viñas

Drew welcomed us so warmly, even though we got there later than planned, and answered all our questions. His calm voice suited the atmosphere perfectly. Murphy, the resident dog, was a lovely extra. This was one of the most beautiful places I've ever been lucky enough to stay. The photos really don't capture it, you have to see it for yourself. A wonderful find in Aspe, with a great location. Book directly with them instead of using search sites.

Breakfast had good choices, including fresh croissants, and we could eat indoors or out on the terrace. There's also a peaceful courtyard and a plunge pool to cool off in. The owners were welcoming, accommodating and clearly cared about giving guests a lovely stay. Murphy greeted us in the friendliest, most polite way. Our room was tastefully decorated and very clean, the bed was comfortable and the shower had strong water pressure. The B&B is in a large historic house, carefully renovated while keeping many original features. It's a calm little oasis right in the centre. We'd definitely stay again and check out more of Aspe's restaurants and squares.

We got a lovely breakfast at 7am, personally served by the hosts with so much care, which we've never had happen anywhere else. We chose Aspe so we could get to the airport in Elche quickly in the morning. The central location also made it an easy walk to good restaurants and historic sights. Even though our room faced the street, the night was very quiet and comfortable in this distinctive historic building. Everything was spotless and so thoughtfully arranged. There was a small fridge with water, a great bathroom with lots of hot water, organic body care products and a hairdryer. There were even two TVs in separate rooms, so no one had to argue over what to watch. Thank you for the warm welcome. We'd gladly return if we're in the area, and we're already looking forward to it. We used the electric charging station outside the hotel. There was still so much left to see, and we just enjoyed being here. It's peaceful and beautiful, so we'll be back. The host was incredibly helpful in pointing us around the area. We visited the Plaza mayor, the basilica and Calatayud park, along with theaters, local opera singers and lovely decorative fountains. We ate at two fantastic restaurants where three courses and wine were very affordable. We saw nine amazing ruins, strolled by a river with waterfalls, ducks, horses and wooden bridges, and noticed a few people with dogs, so we think dogs are allowed. We also came across vineyards, historic architecture, several museums, including one free museum across the street, and a very unusual cathedral on a hill.
