Hostal El Pinar

I spent three nights here. It’s a very clean, spacious place with a homey feel, though there’s nothing luxurious about it and the furniture is quite old. It was more than adequate for sleeping and showering. At night, a little noise from nearby rooms does carry through. The location is convenient for parking, but the hotel is some distance from the city center, so you need a car to get there. Eva at reception was friendly and welcoming.

It’s clean and conveniently located, though a little dated, and the price is good for what you get. The old town center of Ávila is about a 10-minute drive away. There’s a place next to El Pinar where you can get breakfast in the morning.

The hotel is clean and quiet, with a comfortable bed and parking. You’ll need a car for the city walls, but ask at reception and she’ll point you to free parking right beside them, which is a real plus these days. The one letdown was the central heating: we got in around 11 pm to a cold room. There’s an air conditioning unit, and I saw the previous guest get its remote after saying their room was cold. We didn’t get the remote, and our room was cold too. Everything else was great.

We spent four nights here, and the room was very clean. It’s in an industrial park, which made it convenient for exploring the surrounding areas. Raquel was friendly and very helpful, explaining the different places to us. Everything was great, and I highly recommend it.
