Hostal Le vintage

I spent one night here and had no major complaints. The rooms were really clean, good, and had cute decoration, and the WiFi was good. It’s right in the heart of Avila, inside the walls. Just one small thing, the mattress wasn’t the best.

The room was clean, the service was good, the location was great, and the price competitive. But with temperatures at 40 degrees and no AC or fans, we sweated like pigs for two nights and barely slept. The only window was 30 inches by 20. They didn’t give us any city information, just a discount at the local restaurant *Cine*, which doesn’t have the best reviews. Parking was messy too: you can’t drive up to the hotel, and staff only told us to park in the blue or green zones. We had to work out the rest ourselves. For anyone figuring it out, the best spot is in the green zone outside the walls on the west side of town. There’s a no entry sign, but you can use that street. It’s around 1€ a day. The blue zones mean checking your watch and paying through their app every two hours, with a two hour limit. We tried that and found it a pain. The other option is a parking lot for 20€/day.

The location is excellent, right in the city centre, and the hotel is new with nice, modern decor. The simple rooms were clean and cosy, and the staff were friendly. The WiFi signal was quite good for a hotel. There’s no air conditioning, so rooms can get pretty hot. Street facing rooms are also very noisy: there are bars downstairs, and you can hear everything even with the windows closed. With no AC, sleeping can be difficult.
