La Casita de Madera Ávila

The house is lovely, and the setting in midsummer is breathtaking. At sunset it feels like you’re in South Africa, out in the middle of nowhere. The location is great, five minutes by car from the center of Avila or a 25-minute walk. There’s no air conditioning, but there’s always a breeze and the nights are cool. Outside, there’s a lovely pool and a carport for cars or motorcycles.

The views and wildlife made this a lovely spot to unwind, with red kites, booted eagles, and other birds all around. The owner was easy to deal with, and I’m glad this beautiful house is available to rent instead of being kept for the owners’ own use. I’d come back in a heartbeat when traveling through Spain.

Each visit makes me like it more. There’s loads of land for family time, and in summer you can enjoy the pool. It’s also very close to the city, and the house itself is incredible.

Diego was a charming, friendly host, and the place is great for a trip with children. We had comfortable bedrooms and bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, and the temperature was just right. The house is cozy and has everything you might need for a vacation. Outside, there’s a lush garden to wander around, a barbecue, parking, and a seasonal pool. 100% recommended.
