San Vicente Apartments

Maybe it's fine, but who knows? I couldn't get hold of anyone. I had doubts before booking, and several calls went unanswered, leaving only a voicemail message. I also got no response through Booking.com messages or texts. That's zero stars from me. If you can't reach them before booking, what happens if you book and run into a problem during your stay?

Luis and Raquel made us feel so welcome, and from arriving to leaving, the stay was a real pleasure. The apartments are clean, comfortable and tastefully decorated, with no noise, complaints or problems for us. The area is fantastic, with parking, restaurants, supermarkets and the city walls right nearby. Once you're there, there's no need to use the car. A perfect 10/10 weekend.

Three terraces looking onto an interior courtyard brought in loads of sunlight. We had a great time here and will definitely stay again when we return. The worst part was having the vacation end and leaving :P The location is hard to beat, right in the center of Ávila: 500m from Plaza de Santa Teresa, 200m from the city walls and old town, and 300m from the cathedral. The apartment itself was really cool, well located, well equipped and maintained. It had a large bed and a spacious living room with a kitchenette, as well as Wi-Fi and a fairly large TV. The TV was a little far from the sofa, but easy enough to sort out. The owners were attentive and reachable at any time by WhatsApp or phone. The new kitchen gear included a stovetop, refrigerator, oven, microwave, coffee maker and plenty of utensils. The bright, stylish bathroom had a huge shower, though being level with the floor meant it was easy to splash water. There were different shower gels and shampoos, plus single-use hand sanitizer packets. The apartment was smartly set up, from the entrance door to the underfloor heating and cooling. It could feel a little chilly when we arrived, but after an hour or two it was more than comfortable at 24ºC. The building was clean and well maintained, with lots of light, an elevator to the second floor and code access instead of keys or cards. Parking in front is metered, but you can find metered spaces by driving around or going down alongside the walls.

Our apartment was ready when we arrived, spotlessly clean and welcoming, so we felt at home right away. The hosts were friendly and attentive, and gave us codes for both the building and apartment. The location is excellent, just a few meters from the city walls and close to the Basilica of San Vicente and RENFE train station, about a 12-15 minute walk away. Excellent, without a doubt!
