The place is centrally located, but very hard to reach by car. The building is badly maintained, and the cleanliness was appalling, to put it mildly. Apart from the modern furniture in the open-plan kitchen and living room, the rest looked like it had been picked up off the street.

The owner is easily the best part, very kind and attentive. The house is spacious and right in the center, with all the amenities just steps away. Since it’s a pedestrian area, you avoid the usual hassle of staying somewhere so central.

If you want to see the bridge into Portugal and the mouth of the Guadiana River where it meets the Atlantic, the Parador de Ayamonte is a better place to go. Here there’s no viewpoint, just endless hills that Maps sends you up. Parking is impossible, you can only see a bit from the car, and driving up there is dangerous. I got confused.

The price is reasonable and the city center is nearby, but the apartment is dirty, and I’ll say it again, dirty! Getting there is an ordeal because the streets are narrow and steep. It’s very poorly located.
