H10 Villa de la Reina Boutique Hotel

We had an internal room facing an internal well, which made it very quiet. It was surprisingly spacious for two people, with room for our things, and the bathroom was large. They provided free water and Nespresso coffee in the room each day. The staff were courteous and helpful, including offering to arrange a taxi early in the morning. We felt very safe: the doors are locked at night, and you have to give your room number to get in, which seems sensible on busy Gran Via. The location is excellent, a 5-10 minute walk to the main spots and plenty of good restaurants, with the Gran Via metro stop just two minutes away. We had a great three-night stay.

We came to Madrid this week just for a flight and booked two rooms for one night. Since we’d had such a great five-day vacation at this same hotel last year, I figured a classic room would be fine. That was a mistake. Both rooms were old-fashioned and in such bad shape. What a disappointment.

The staff were friendly and professional, and always willing to help. The rooms were stylish, clean, and comfortable, with nice attention to detail. This boutique hotel is right in the center, so it’s easy to explore the city. I had a very pleasant stay and would definitely return for another relaxing, elegant stay in Madrid.

We didn’t like that the room had no outside windows, only openings onto an internal well. Even so, it was a great experience overall. The staff’s care and exceptional service impressed us throughout our three nights, from arrival to departure. I’d especially like to mention Victoria at the front desk, who helped us get our bearings with local destinations.
