Leo Apartamentos San Bruno

The location suited us perfectly, as this is the last complex before the village. Reception is closed; keys and registration are handled at the Leo Hotel at the village entrance. Early check-in and late check-out each cost an extra €20. Parking inside the complex is €7 to €10 a day depending on the season, though there’s usually plenty of parking outside. The pool is empty from October 1, and there are no sun loungers in the garden. Rooms are cleaned once a week. Ask for two sets of keys, since you need them to get in and out of the complex.

The receptionist was very friendly, and the apartment was well equipped, but cleanliness was awful. We walked into a strong, unbearable tobacco smell. The table and chairs were dirty, so I had to clean them myself; the floors were filthy, and the toilet was full of sand. When we went to bed, the sheets smelled just as strongly of tobacco and were dirty too. I’ve stayed in other Leo apartments and never had this happen. Security was another concern. A neighbor recently had all his beach gear, including an umbrella and chairs, taken from inside the complex. The entrance has a large remote-controlled garage door and a smaller gate that needs a key. Everyone used the garage door because it was easier to open with a button, but it took ages to open and close. People from outside could get in while it was open. We paid €10 a day to park inside because we thought it would be safer. I wouldn’t do that again, and I don’t recommend it.

Such a pity: the complex itself is beautiful and well maintained, but the apartments are neglected. They haven’t been renovated in years, and the cleaning is appalling. We arrived to find food scraps in the oven, while the terrace couldn’t be used and the chairs and table were filthy.

Everything felt new in this well-kept, renovated hotel. It’s set up like a group of apartments, each fully equipped and recently redone. The bathrooms, bedrooms, kitchen, and terrace were spotless. Great for families or groups of friends, and highly recommended.
