Loft 1

The location, right in the center, was great, and the owner was very friendly. But the mattress was awful, and the house felt damp.

The cleaning was only okay, and at first the place looked pretty shabby. It did grow on us and felt cozy, though. The owner was attentive and warned us about the stairs.

The location was the only real positive. The apartment is disappointing even if you arrive without high expectations, and the old-fashioned furniture could be put to much better use in such a well-situated little place. They hinted that booking through Air b&b meant we got a “bargain” price, which was probably for the best, because I wouldn't have wanted to pay what they said they normally charge. There were dirty dishes, broken pans, and an extractor hood that didn't work. The sofa was dirty and uncomfortable, with cigarette butts on it, and the bed was extremely uncomfortable with dirty sheets. The bathroom is so tiny that washing your face in the kitchen sink is probably easier. There are no blinds, just shades that let in enough morning light to wake you. There's an upstairs floor, but the stairs are so steep you'd need a climbing license to get up there.

Brilliant.
