We used our time at Rompeolas to get some work done and explore Baiona. The seaside setting was inspiring and worked perfectly for both. I even learned some new Spanish words, like sacacorcho, from the hotel’s third-generation owner. The owner and staff were charming and made the place feel like home. We hope to return next year and won’t forget our stay. The hotel is perfectly located and the views are indescribable. Some rooms have balconies over the ocean. If you get a mountain view room, there’s also a grand salon, hardly used, with lots of sofas and chairs along an almost all-glass wall facing the ocean. Our room was super comfortable, with an excellent bed and superb shower.

I slept really well during my night at this lovely, unassuming little hotel in front of the majestic Atlantic. The staff were attentive, and the place was clean and equipped with everything needed for a great stay. Highly recommend based on my experience.

The owners were really rude, and I was charged more than I should have been at every turn. I stayed alone but was billed for two people, then charged more than my reservation amount for “taxes,” even though the fee I booked at said taxes were included. Breakfast cost double the advertised price too. The hotel felt old, musty, and dirty. There’s no air conditioning, so you have to leave the window open, and it faces a busy highway. It was a horrible experience. I’d never stay again and strongly recommend finding somewhere else.

A gorgeous sunset over the ocean. The hotel was really nice and clean, and the staff were super helpful. You can easily walk to town and the beaches.

We could see and hear the waves crashing from our room’s balcony. The hotel’s location is stunning and really lives up to its name, Breakwater! We started our Camino de Santiago along the coast from Baiona and chose well by staying here on our first night. Many thanks to Carlos for his hospitality.
