Hotel Arimune

The gourmet breakfast was delicious, and the gentleman who made it from scratch is clearly very talented. At check-in, the staff were wonderful and shared helpful information about the hotel, as well as excellent dinner recommendations. I really enjoyed my fantastic room, especially the spacious, lovely shower area in the handicap access room. I can’t wait to come back with my wife.

The water view makes the setting so lovely that it’s hard to leave. The waiter, who’s part of the family that runs the hotel, was warm and attentive and made the experience even more memorable. The breakfast itself was fantastic: carefully put together with quality ingredients, never feeling rushed or over the top. From arrival, the welcome felt personal, more like visiting friends than staying at a hotel. I’d definitely come back.

Our car had to be at the mechanic for two days, and with no other hotels open, we needed somewhere to stay. We were among only about five other guests, and our sea view room was really beautiful. But the highlight was the chef, who made us a fantastic personalised breakfast in the morning. His refreshing, courteous manner and focus on making sure we were satisfied and full stayed with us, along with that delicious breakfast. The building is centuries old, beautifully restored with modern practical touches, and still full of its original character. It felt elegant and comfortable, everything was high quality, and it may be the cleanest hotel I’ve stayed in. The family who run it take real professional pride in their work and were outstandingly kind and helpful. They made a delicious traditional basque breakfast individually for each guest, easily the best of my trip. I stayed for two nights while biking through Basque Country with my dad, and I don’t usually write reviews, but this was one of my most delightful travel experiences. The location is unbeatable, right on the beach, with stunning views from our room and the common areas. It’s peaceful, and we fell asleep and woke to the sound of the ocean. The beds were super comfortable, and even jet lagged, I got incredible sleep for the first time on my trip. The comfort and thoughtful details made the stay a delight.
