Can Ku

The lake is only a three minute walk away, and there’s parking nearby. We had a wonderful stay in a spacious, modern, welcoming home. The bedrooms are large and each has its own bathroom, so it works well for a group or a couple of friends. Everything was well equipped, very clean, and carefully looked after. The decor and furnishings are top-notch. 100% recommended.

The setting is ideal, right by the promenade on the lake’s eastern shore and very close to the Banyoles Swimming Club. We stayed during very hot weather, but the layout kept the air moving and the interior comfortable. Just remember to lower the blinds where the sun comes in directly. Parking can be found nearby in the lake area except during large competitions. The access road is very quiet, but it’s only for loading and unloading. This is a completely renovated old country house that keeps its traditional charm while giving you modern home comforts. The owner was very welcoming. Upstairs there are four double bedrooms, each with an en-suite bathroom with a toilet, sink, and good shower. Downstairs there’s a spacious entrance hall with four bicycles, four complimentary umbrellas, and tourist brochures, then a corridor to the stairs and a bathroom with a shower. The open plan living, dining, and kitchen area is very spacious, well equipped, and gets pleasant natural light. At the back is an outdoor dining area with a barbecue and a beautifully maintained garden. The kitchen dining area has supplies for eight, including an oven, microwave, dishwasher, ceramic hob, and a good sized refrigerator. There’s also a utility room with a washing machine, dryer, hand sink, cleaning supplies, and plenty of storage. It would be nice to have a mosquito net on the bright sliding door between the living room and garden barbecue area. The four courtesy bicycles look great, but aren’t functional.

The house is comfortable for 6-8 people and has been renovated with taste. It’s on a semi-pedestrian street, so it’s very quiet, and the central location is right by the lake. Check-in and check-out were flexible. A couple of things could be better: the kitchen could use more utensils. Only two knives actually cut, and there’s no breadboard, so you risk grating something. There’s also no bathroom soap, so bring your own.

Banyoles and the surrounding area are beautiful, and this is a lovely spot to relax and switch off for a few days. Choosing Can Ku made for a very pleasant stay. Lourdes is a wonderful host. Thank you!
