Apartamentos Cala Isabel

The pool has a lovely view of the beach and lighthouse, and there’s a direct route from it to the beach that takes about five minutes on foot. We stayed for a week with two young children in a house set apart from the pool, less than a two-minute walk away. After spending years in different houses in Zahora, this is one of the best we’ve found. The house is new, nicely decorated, and has all the amenities. It’s also well set up against mosquitoes, with window screens and mosquito-proof outlets. The owner is friendly and happy to accommodate requests. I don’t understand how anyone could leave a bad review about the house. There is a vegetable garden next door and an empty plot nearby, but it isn’t a junk storage area or a dump, as one review claims.

The nearby lot has quite a few dogs that bark. The house itself and its facilities were fine, and it was very nice, but note that the two-bedroom houses aren’t where the Cala Isabel apartments are. They’re in the fourth row from the beach, around 300 meters from the complex with the pool and beach access. I was a bit disappointed to find out it wasn’t actually within that complex.

The area is really quiet, and the pool and parking were a big bonus. It’s about a five-minute walk to the beach on a little path, and even the furthest of the best local restaurants is around 15 minutes away on foot. We booked a Type B house, which was beautiful and cozy, and spotless. The towels and sheets even smelled lovely. It had all the kitchenware we needed. The owner was incredibly welcoming, helpful, and attentive from the start. A fabulous stay, and we’ll be back. I’d give it an even higher rating if I could.

Rafael was friendly right through to the last moment, and everything around us was so well kept. Inside, the apartment was clean, cozy, and in great shape. We hadn’t known what to expect, so it turned out to be a lovely surprise. The sunset, the lighthouse, the grill right nearby, and music from the beach bars all made the weekend feel perfect. We would have gone back already, but it’s fully booked at the moment. We’ll return as soon as there’s a vacancy.
