We went in late April without booking and found plenty of free tables, but the restaurant was full an hour later. It had a lovely atmosphere and was the busiest place we’d seen in Zahara. Both the entrecôte retinto and secreto Iberico were delicious, served with a little salad and small chips. Our waiter was lovely, worked hard, and kept tabs on all his tables.

Book ahead, because it’s really worth it. We had an outstanding meal, and the tasting menu offered plenty of variety at a good price. The waiters were attentive and super nice, and the place has an elegant look with a great vibe.

At the fish restaurant, I tried the local bluefin tuna and steak, and both were excellent. The ingredients were top quality. Expect to spend around 25 euros per person, which seemed fair for the quality.

The room itself was nice, but the morning arrangements really soured the stay. We weren’t told when reserving or checking in that breakfast didn’t start until 9 or checkout wasn’t until 10. Then nobody came to the desk to check us out until 10:20, by which time three groups were waiting. We were very frustrated.

A beautiful Andalusian hotel, right in the centre and handy for getting around the village. The room and every other area were probably the cleanest I’ve ever seen in a hotel.
