Hotel Barcelona Condal Mar Affiliated by Meliá

I was there in late April for work, and the location worked well for the convention center. Getting into central Barcelona took a while and involved transfers, depending on where I was going. Staff were friendly and the rooms clean, but the bathroom smelled like a gutter. I didn’t try the air conditioning and just left the window open for cool air. The two complimentary 300ml waters were appreciated, though not quite enough for two nights. Mediocre overall.

The hotel is a little out of the way, but it’s well connected, about a 20-minute ride from the airport, and there were taxis outside most of the time. It’s also near Barcelonata beach. The receptionist was helpful, the reception area was nice, and breakfast had a good range that changed each day. Rooms were decent and clean, with daily housekeeping, and there’s a gym. I had a pleasant stay.

The staff were helpful and accommodating, and the hotel had a good range of services, from the rooftop pool and bar to the room facilities. We had an amazing stay, and everything lived up to expectations. We’d gladly return and would recommend it.

The lobby was the best part, but our room didn’t come close to four-star standard. It had no window or balcony, which made it dark and claustrophobic, and the TVs were outdated rather than smart TVs, something I’d expect at this level. We paid extra for breakfast and regretted it. There were very few choices, especially for vegetarian or pescatarian guests, with only around two hot options. A staff member named Jesus was extremely rude to us, which ruined the experience. Customer service should matter in hospitality, and it didn’t feel that way here. I wouldn’t recommend the hotel or stay again.
