The neighborhood was lovely and quiet, with a nice view. The kitchen was sticky throughout, and we weren’t sure how clean it was. It was also very sparsely equipped: just one kitchen towel, a cutting board, and a knife, with no teapot, jug, or large pan. Cooking there would be hard for more than two people. They advertised an “Italian coffee machine,” but it was only a Mocca. It was okay overall.

Mar bella 8 is under a 10-minute walk from the beach, in a comfortable and fairly safe, convenient district. It feels more residential than touristy, and there are plenty of restaurants and shops near Poblenou metro station. The team set up a WhatsApp group before we arrived, so we could share arrival and checkout times or ask questions. They responded quickly to every issue we raised. The apartment wasn’t in its best condition. The main bedroom bed made quite a bit of noise whenever you turned, and there was only one air conditioner, in the living room. The three bedrooms had ceiling fan and light combinations instead. This time, the person sleeping on the living room sofa bed had the best sleep. Both bathrooms were small but acceptable, though more towel hooks would help. For a longer stay, some extra cleaning tools, like a vacuum cleaner, would be useful. We switched to a city-center hotel after the stay we’d originally planned at Mar Bella 8. I saw how expensive central hotels are: our family needs two double rooms, and that would have cost at least twice as much. For the price, I’d say Mar Bella 8 is a good option for families.

We had easy bus and metro connections into the city, and the apartment was only a few minutes' walk from the beach. It was spacious and in a quiet neighborhood. I would've enjoyed the stay more if we hadn't run into the "referendum chaos".
