Casa Rural El Hilo Rojo

A lovely place in nature, with great hiking nearby, and I’d happily come back. It’s an easy spot to switch off and enjoy your surroundings. The house is clean and welcoming, the beds are really comfortable, and it has everything you need, from kitchenware to thoughtful decor. The host is friendly and easy to talk to.

The upstairs sitting room was our favorite, with its sofa, two armchairs, TV, books, and more. The whole house is beautiful, spotless, and thoughtfully decorated. The kitchen is spacious and has all the utensils you need; the bedrooms are lovely with very comfortable mattresses, and the bathrooms are practical and nicely done. It feels like a fairytale house in a beautiful village in Cáceres. What stays with you is the everyday life: neighbors chatting in the cool evening air, children playing in the street, and the simplicity of it all. It’s also a great base for visiting the Jerte Valley and La Vera. The hosts were wonderful and made us feel at home. Thank you for everything.

Feliciano was a warm and helpful host, always ready with information about the area. We arrived to find a welcome spread of local cured meats, fruit, and homemade bread in the kitchen. The kitchen is fully equipped, and the beds are very comfortable. El Hilo Rojo is in Barrado, a peaceful village surrounded by nature, just right for a few days of rest. It sits in the heart of the Jerte Valley, making it convenient for walks and excursions. The house is tastefully furnished and very clean. It’s a charming place I’d gladly return to.

The attic library and living room, with its fireplace and sofas, made a great spot for board games. The house itself is charming, and you can feel how much care the owners put into making a stay special. The rooms are comfortable, the bathrooms clean, and the kitchen is spacious and well equipped for family dinners. A lovely place to spend a few days exploring the Jerte Valley and visiting Plasencia.
