We stayed in Carmen, a room that pays tribute to Flamenco dancer Carmen Amaya with striking red bathroom and beautiful tiled floors. La Bionda is such a joyful place, thoughtfully designed with a hint of Wes Anderson quirkiness. The breakfast was simple and delicious each day, made with high-quality ingredients: meat and cheese from Carla’s parents’ butcher shop, fresh-squeezed orange juice, fruit picked up from the greengrocer each morning, homemade conserves, and eggs made however you like. Carla is a natural host, warm and always available, with great suggestions for places to eat, drink, and explore. Begur is a delight, with quiet streets, unpretentious bars, and beautiful buildings. The nearby beaches are stunning, and the coastal walks are unbelievably scenic. We only had two nights and wished we could stay longer. We hope to return.

The owner took some time to tell us the hotel’s history and gave us a bottle of lovely wine. She and the staff were all very kind. For value, it would be hard to find a better place. Breakfast is incredible and included, with small extras available for a modest fee. We stayed in Valentina and then Josephine, both gorgeous rooms with private terraces. This boutique hotel deserves top marks for its rooms, location, and service.

The details in La Bionda’s design are impeccable, and breakfast was delicious. Carla was so welcoming and sweet, and helped more with our stay than anyone ever has. I really have no words for how lovely the place is. Highly recommend staying here!

We’ve now stayed in a different room each time, and they’re all individual, beautifully decorated, and finished with great taste. La Bionda is wonderfully quiet despite being right in the centre of Begur, and the breakfast is the best. This was our third visit, and it won’t be our last. Carla is a fabulous host who always suggests a new, interesting restaurant and is happy to book it for you. See you next time!

Carla was exceptional. She made sure the service was impeccable and shared her love for the Costa Brava, the place she’s lucky to call home. The property is beautiful throughout, from the rooms and common spaces to all the thoughtful little details. We couldn’t recommend it more highly. Thanks for such a wonderful stay, Carla!
