Colina del Paraíso

You'll need a car or other transport here. The property is about 2 km uphill from the mercado, Lidl, pharmacy, shops, and main road. It's in Benehavis near Estepona, and the views are lovely, especially from the Villa Colina restaurant and bar. You can see Gibraltar and the Spanish and African coastlines out front, with the golf course to the side. The restaurant and bar area was quiet, the staff were friendly and mature, and the food was tasty. It was also pretty quiet during our July 2025 visit. There are three main pools for residents, plus smaller dip pools with sun decks on top of the apartment blocks. The pool bar has limited hours and choices. Table tennis is in a room by the pool bar. The gym and games rooms are in the block by reception, both small but good. You can book the tennis and paddle courts, and rackets and balls are supplied. There's also a nice soccer area for a kickabout. The car park beneath reception has two charging points for electric vehicles. We stayed in a three-bedroom townhouse and found it brilliantly laid out across two floors, with a full-depth solarium on top and a jacuzzi hot tub. The entrance floor has a well-equipped kitchen, a utility room with washer and dryer, a large sitting and dining room leading to a big patio or balcony, and a downstairs toilet. The middle floor has three bedrooms: a lovely master with an ensuite and its own patio or balcony, plus two twin rooms, each with an ensuite. On the top floor, the sun deck gets sun from morning to evening and has three loungers, the jacuzzi, and a fridge with a small freezer section for ice cream and the like. The house was very clean and mostly well furnished and fitted, and the development is older but generally well kept. The patios and balconies could use more cleaning, though. The master bedroom's balcony was bare and could do with a table, two chairs, and a sun lounger. The roof has only three sunbeds for a house that sleeps six. Six might be a tight fit, but a few more seats would help.

The apartment was nice and I'm satisfied with the stay, though there were ants and some dirt on the balcony tiles. I'd give the apartment four stars. The pool and gym were okay, but I'd give the extras one star. I can't comment on the service since we only rented the apartment.

We rented four three-bedroom apartments, and the experience was terrible. The apartments were dirty, the service was poor, and the public pools were dirty and full of insects and ants. The hotel is far away.

The townhouse was lovely, tidy, and clean, with a jacuzzi on the roof. It was self-catering, and the kitchen had all the utensils we needed. Still, I've never before been expected to bring my own toilet roll and soap. The views were nice, and the bar was a great spot to sit and watch the sunset. For sleeping, two single beds had been pushed together, and the pillows weren't decent. The air-conditioning worked well, as did the blackout blinds. You'll want a car. Estepona is about 15 minutes away and lovely for an evening out.
