Hotel Betania

We checked in on Xmas day for four nights, but checked out the next morning. The room was filthy, with hairs from previous guests all over it. I washed the floor myself and slept on it in my clothes because the bed was a disgrace. The towels were filthy too. Breakfast was just a selection of dried-out processed meat. Avoid this place at all costs.

We spent 12 days here, and the patio was a sun trap, but it was never swept or cleaned. The pool was dirty and wasn't cleaned while we were there either. The shower was tiny, with a curtain held up by thread and scum around the shower. We won't stay again. The pool steps were one of the main reasons we booked, since my wife struggles with ladders. The pictures show proper steps leading into the pool, but that turned out to be false advertising.

Our vacation was ruined, and I absolutely wouldn't recommend this hotel. It was extremely dirty, with the smell of urine everywhere. They advertised a swimming pool, but it was dirty and closed. Breakfast was just cheese and eggs, and we had to wait half an hour to get two fried eggs. Management offered no help when we complained or tried to find solutions. The whole stay was a complete flop.

This was less a holiday than a survival adventure, but I'd definitely come back. The room's toilet refused to work, and a colony of ants kept us company. The cupboards came with free black mould, and the cleaners seemed to move dirt from one spot to another so every surface felt equally loved. The pool wasn't just green, it looked like a whole ecosystem. I'm fairly sure I saw a new species evolving in it. Construction work played us daily tunes from a chop saw, with the occasional dramatic crash. The garden even had discarded sinks as avant-garde sculptures. Then armed police gave us an unexpected wake-up call. All the thrills included!
