Hotel Las Arenas, Affiliated by Meliá

The marina is about a 1 km walk away along the beach promenade, a lovely way to walk off dinner. The Old Town is an €8 Uber ride. The hotel itself was fantastic, with first-class rooms, food, staff and amenities. My wife had her birthday while we were there, and the team left a complimentary bottle of champagne in our room. The restaurant and bar staff were absolutely top tier.

The Sky Bar is a lovely spot, though in our opinion the music playlist was awful and didn't suit the mostly mature crowd staying there during our visit. There's nightly entertainment in the Salon Bar. The location is convenient, but you can hear some road noise. Our room was clean and practical, with a comfortable bed, and the food was a real highlight: lots of fresh, tasty choices at both breakfast and dinner. The staff were friendly and worked hard. We'd recommend the hotel, especially for the food.

We'd love to return after a lovely three-night stay. The room and hotel were clean and comfortable, the buffet breakfast was delicious with plenty of variety, and every staff member we met was welcoming and friendly.

The pool area goes into shade from the hotel, so we preferred the beach on sunny days. Our room looked out onto a huge tree, and guests waiting below for coaches and taxis could be noisy, so ask for a higher floor. It didn't bother us much since we spent most days out. The room itself was very spacious and modern, though there were a couple of long black hairs on the floor, presumably left by the cleaners, so they should tie their hair back. The food had a great selection and was really nice. The restaurant team worked hard and were friendly, and one woman who looked like the singer Sade was especially good, thank you. Arnold and the other bar staff were brilliant too. The rooftop bar has a great view. All in all, the staff, food and location made it a good place to stay.
