Sunset Beach Club Hotel Apartments

The hotel met our expectations and we’d happily stay again. We visited the Sunset Beach Club Hotel in November and had a spacious, functional room for four, with a separate bedroom and kitchenette. It looked out over the mountains and street, but outside noise didn’t bother us. The room and common areas were very clean and well maintained, and the hotel smelled fresh and pleasant. It’s right on the beach, up on a hill. The center is a bit far, but the hotel is on the promenade, so walking there is pleasant. I’d recommend it to anyone after a comfortable stay in a convenient location.

We’ve just got home after six days here. The Junior Suite had a sea view, and the hotel was clean throughout. Staff were friendly and helpful, there were plenty of sunbeds, and the hotel shop covered all our needs. It’s great for families, including those with small children. As a couple, we found it a bit far out of town and didn’t fancy walking to some of the other pubs and shops. That was our choice, though.

We had a fantastic short break in Jan 2025. The weather was fab for January, and the hotel made for a brilliant trip to relax and recharge. This was our second visit. We arrived early and the hotel really looked after us, with a lovely treat waiting in our room. I’d recommend booking directly with the hotel and am already looking forward to coming back soon.

The biggest issue was the noise. We were on floor 4, away from the panorama bar on floor 6, but could hear doors slamming at 2am, people shouting and furniture moving on the same floor and above us. There seems to be no sound insulation. The hotel hosted three weddings during our one-week stay. We’re all for people having a good time, but being woken by noise until 2am while the bar is open wasn’t a great experience for a family hotel. WiFi reception was very limited in many places. We had decent reception in the room but kept getting disconnected. We paid €3 per day for "premium WiFi" and it didn’t improve the speed or stop the disconnections, so it felt like wasted money. On the plus side, staff were polite and friendly, the hotel was clean and tidy, the food was great and reasonably priced, and the views were lovely. There’s a taxi rank and bus stop outside, two supermarkets nearby, daily room service and good pools. The rooms are small, though. We had a sea view room with two adults and two 12yr kids, and even with the limited time we spent there, it felt cramped. I’d say these rooms are for two adults and one young child at most. The internal supermarket is a bit expensive, though that’s expected for convenience. A can of Fanta lemon was €1.60 there, compared with €0.80 at the external supermarkets across the road.
