There wasn’t much going on, with no entertainment, but everything else was fine and I’d recommend it. The buffet was decent, although drinks cost extra. The pool is on the small side. It was very quiet with few people in early July, but in peak season the two lifts serving 16 floors of studios could mean long waits.

The staff were great, and our older, non-renovated apartment was still fine. The atmosphere was spoiled a bit by lots of noisy, drunk English guests. There isn’t much room by the pool, so you need to get there early if you want a sun lounger.

The food was very poor in both quality and variety, and left a lot to be desired. Reception, cafeteria and cleaning staff were fine, and the room cleaning was very good, but some dining room staff were curt or rude. They didn’t seem to know how to say hello or goodbye. I felt they treated us like a nuisance or just another number, even though we greeted them every time we came in. We stayed in the pet-friendly apartments. I respect that pets are allowed, but it isn’t for me: on the 10th floor, two dogs barked whenever anyone was on the landing. They could have kept pets on the same floors. The hotel was also inconvenient because of all the ramps and stairs. Parking at €12 seemed fair.

The staff were the friendliest part, and the food was good quality, both the breakfast buffet and the lunch and dinner options. The pool was perfect, and the apartments themselves were fine. The elevators are so small that a stroller or wheelchair won’t fit, and the steep ramp up to the dining room is still a problem for both. The garage is very narrow and parking is difficult. If you have a large car, reversing in helps, especially if your space is at the back. The hotel is central and well located on Levante Beach, and Benidorm itself is easy to get around with a stroller or wheelchair.
