Apartment Alcalde Manuel Catalán Chana

The bathroom smelled so bad we couldn’t use it, but the manager only wanted us to leave the windows open to clear the smell. We also found the apartment too cold for sleeping, with minimal heating during Benidorm’s coldest spell in over a decade. The pillows were filthy enough to worry us, and the two replacements we got were dirty and old too. When we asked for new ones, the manager refused and told us to buy our own. All the messaging and calls with booking.com caused stress, and we got no refund for the last night we had to leave early. We arrived on 1st January and had paid for three non-refundable nights. After struggling through the first night, we moved to another apartment from night two and formally checked out of Alcade Manuel, in the Edifico Portofino Apartment Building, before the third night. Stay away from this apartment!
