Hotel Clopy Rocamar

We had a three-night stay last week. It’s in a great spot in the old town, just above tapas alley, and about a 10-minute walk to both Levante and poniente beaches. Check-in was smooth and the staff were very pleasant. The room was spotless, with a huge bed and one of the comfiest mattresses I’ve slept on. There was a small fridge, kettle, a decent-sized bathroom with a really good shower, and a little balcony overlooking one of the old town alleys. We chose the 8 euros breakfast for our first morning and booked it the day before. There were teas and coffees, cereal, yogurt, honey, nuts and breads, plus bacon, vienna sausage and spanish tortilla as hot choices. Plenty of places just a few minutes away can cover pretty much any meal you need. Our flight home was late, so we paid 30 euros to keep the room until 3pm. They also looked after our bags after checkout so we could get a meal before our pickup. I’d recommend it if you want a budget-style stay close to everything in the old town.

For a short stay, the location was great and the room lovely, with plenty of space where it mattered. They serve breakfast, but I like to have a morning coffee, so please add a kettle. Nothing fancy or complicated, just a brilliant place to rest your head.

The location was really convenient, close to the little beach down the steps and the rest of the old town. The room was clean and did the job, and the staff were friendly. The glass bathroom felt a bit strange. It was fine with my husband, who’s seen it all before, but it might’ve been awkward sharing with a friend. The bed, though, was awful. It squeaked if you so much as breathed, let alone turned over, so getting cosy together would’ve woken the whole place. We mentioned it as we left, so hopefully it’ll be fixed for the next guests. It wasn’t terrible overall, and the price was reasonable, so we’d stay again.

The roof terrace is a lovely idea, with space to sunbathe and outdoor showers. It could do with a spruce-up and some new furniture, but I’d definitely stay again. It’s a great little hotel in the old town, and the rooms were exceptionally clean. It looks as though Rocamar and mirador used to be two hotels that merged into one. The staff were friendly, especially Andreas, who works nights. We were delayed by three hours and arrived in the middle of the night, but nothing was too much trouble.
