Hotel Bristol

The old town and seafront are both just a short walk away. I'd suggest upgrading to a room with a city view balcony. The pool looked good, but the weather wasn't great for us, so we didn't use it. There were singers in the bar every night after dinner. Our room was spacious, with tea-making supplies and a kettle, but bring your own tea bags. A large shower, shower wash and soap were provided. Reception staff spoke good English and were always happy to help. Drinks cost extra, though hotel prices were okay. The buffets had a great range for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with salads, cold meats and cheese, and hot dishes that included show cooking. Breakfast had bacon, scrambled or poached eggs, freshly cooked omelettes, beans, sausage, tomatoes and more, along with a selection of breads, yoghurt, cereal, continental options and fresh pastries. Lunch and dinner included stews, rice, potatoes, most meats and salads.

The food was lovely and changed every day, the rooms were spotless, and the value was hard to fault. What made the stay especially good was the staff. Everyone in reception, housekeeping, the restaurant and the bar was cheerful and so helpful. From the hotel, you can easily walk to the old and new town, the beach and the castle areas. I'll be back!

The beach and old town are both very close, and everything is walkable. Our room had a pool view, though the pool wasn't in use in January unless you like cold water. If you're a couple on holiday, I'd try to get a room higher up for a nicer view. We booked through the website and got a very good price for a room with breakfast, lunch and dinner included. The food was lovely: breakfast stayed the same, while lunch and dinner changed. The room was nice, and the bed and pillow were lovely. It was the best hotel pillow I've ever had. The baby's cot had its own mattress, not a thin one, and the baby slept like a log. The staff were very friendly, and it was a lovely hotel overall.

A friend recommended The Bristol Park Hotel, so we tried it after usually staying in the old town. We loved our stay. Our deluxe room was spotless, comfortable and very spacious, with a huge balcony furnished with a table and sunbeds. Breakfast was fantastic, with English sausage and bacon that made my husband's day. The room rates were excellent too. I couldn't fault it.
