Hotel Gala Placidia

It was a very pleasant trip, especially since I hadn't travelled outside the UK in a long time. The hotel is central, so you can get pretty much anywhere in about 15 minutes. I also want to thank the restaurant manager for making sure my gluten intolerance was considered during my stay. That was extra helpful, and may matter to other guests with similar health concerns.

Foya was clean, including the toilets, and having bottled water in the restaurant was a nice touch. But the rooms need a proper refurb: dirty walls, no fridge, hard beds and hardly any space for belongings. The food was warm and the worst we've had. Dynastic was better. The token system seemed silly when we already had wristbands. It was quite a walk from the strip, and sorry, we wouldn't return.

The bar was a strong point, with great drinks, a good selection and brilliant bar staff. Lau was entertaining, and the staff in general were lovely. Food varied, some nights were delicious and others just OK. The rooms were very clean and tidied every day. The pool felt too cold for me to use, though it looked alright; I imagine it would have been great if the other pool had been open. For the price, it's a really good spot in a good location.

Lau was fantastic with the entertainment and had the whole crowd involved, making it such a great night. Eladio l. at the bar was lovely too, and remembered all our drinks. We were greeted warmly at reception as well. Thanks again, Cotrina Scotland.
