Hotel Servigroup Diplomatic

Brilliant location, with the Old Town to the right and the strip to the left. The hotel is lovely, very clean, and all the staff were friendly whatever their role. A few places could use a little maintenance, like the missing pool tiles. We’d definitely recommend it and stay again.

Our October stay in room 611, from 07/10/2025 to 28/10/2025, was very different from the two weeks we loved at the Diplomatic in June. This time, we felt out of place and unwelcome. The Spanish guests seemed to get special attention from the staff, especially in the restaurant, while we were ignored each time we came in for breakfast or dinner. It was embarrassing. During our second week, a waitress knocked a glass of red wine all over my husband, soaking his shirt and trousers. He had to go back to the room to change. Nobody apologized, and the staff seemed to think it was funny, saying it was lucky to have wine spilled on you. We weren’t offered another glass either, even though we’d bought that wine and had it every night for three weeks. We never complained about the incident at the time. Ann Turner & Michael Turner.

The downstairs looks lovely, but don’t be fooled. This didn’t feel like a four-star hotel. You can’t get coffee before 8 am, and the room has paper cups. Asking for a glass can turn into an argument. The air conditioning was apparently broken, and with a room at the back you had to leave the balcony doors open for air. It was so noisy that sleeping was difficult. The balcony lights also came on and off whenever they felt like it.

Breakfast had plenty to choose from and was nicely laid out, and the bits of entertainment we caught were good. The staff were polite and professional everywhere, and the cleanliness was excellent. Our room could have been a little bigger, though it was fine. The ground-floor balcony gate gives the room a rather prison-cell feel, but I understand it’s there for security. We had a fantastic stay and plan to book again next year for our annual trip. Thoroughly recommend it.
